KOKO is looking for a creative and ambitious Junior Graphic Designer to join our marketing team. This role will work across the main KOKO brand and its sub-brands, including Cafe KOKO, KOKO Electronic, The House of KOKO, and KOKO Foundation, as well as collaborations with KOKO’s brand partners.


The ideal candidate will have strong design skills and creativity in a current graphic design role and a keen awareness of trends in music, design, art, and fashion. The role will at times require illustration skills for our high-end luxury brand assets, therefore drawing ability will be essential.


The successful candidate will report into and work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer on internal briefs from KOKO stakeholders, in order to develop creative solutions that meet design requirements. As an independent company, the team works across many projects within the business at any given time, so we are looking for someone who will contribute a positive, can-do attitude, with passion for music and culture, to bring the vision of the business alive through design.


Please note this is a full time role, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity for hybrid work arrangement of 2 days remotely.


Role & Responsibilities:

The specific details of the junior designer’s role will vary depending on the project, but common activities include:

  • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
  • Producing attractive and effective designs for all media
  • Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback
  • Liaising effectively with other team members
  • Supporting the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects


You will be expected to:

  • Conceptualise and design new brand assets in response to written and verbal briefs, including but not limited to marketing collateral, social media graphics, brand guidelines, corporate decks, promotional materials such as menus, posters and flyers.
  • Consistently elevate our internal brand graphics such as decks and presentations.
  • Resize artwork to specific print and digital specifications.
  • Illustrate and draw to a good ability, and edit short videos.
  • Knowledge and understanding of printing and proofing.
  • Present design concepts internally, take feedback and execute design amends.
  • Be able to speak clearly about any design decisions and why these have been made
  • Collaborate with the Digital Product Manager to support and improve KOKO's digital experience across all our websites and apps.
  • Ensure that all design work aligns with KOKO’s brand guidelines and maintains a consistent visual identity.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and incorporate innovative design techniques into projects.
  • Work on both design projects (typography, layout, art working) as well as image making.
  • Basic animation and motion design skills are welcomed but not essential.
  • Act as KOKO’s brand guardian, championing consistency and improving understanding of the various KOKO brands.


About you:

  • 1-2 years experience in a design role, with the ability to receive and interpret creative direction.
  • Strong drawing / illustration skills (use of Wacom or Ipad equipment).
  • Advance skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are essential, good working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
  • Must have strong typography, composition and layout skills.
  • A detailed and thorough attitude to your work, with excellent time management and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Excellent understanding of design fundamentals and limitations of online/offline design work, social media oriented design and typography.
  • A thorough knowledge of current design trends and best practices, with a good eye for photography.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, a team player who can explain your work and pitch creative concepts to the PR & marketing team and various internal teams.
