Job summary:
Working closely with the wider Operational Management team, the Restaurant Manager plays a central role in the successful delivery of experiences within The Roof Garden, a food and beverage–led space that also hosts a diverse calendar of events and activations. The role will additionally oversee and support the launch and ongoing development of our new Japanese concept in the Penthouse.
This is a dynamic, hands-on position that combines operational excellence with creative vision. The Restaurant Manager will have the opportunity to shape and continuously evolve both spaces, ensuring they reflect the energy and ethos of The House of KOKO and its connection to the live music and club experience within KOKO.
With a genuine passion for hospitality, food, and people, the Restaurant Manager will lead by example in inspiring the team, elevating the guest experience and maintaining the highest standards of service, experience and quality.
Please note that due to the nature of the business, evening and weekend availability will be required.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant service, ensuring seamless operations across guest experience, set-up and delivery.
- Lead with visibility and energy on the floor, maintaining a strong presence and proactively resolving issues before they arise.
- Champion a warm, inclusive and high-energy guest experience that reflects the spirit of the venue while driving commercial performance.
- Maintain optimal atmosphere and capacity across all areas, balancing ambience, service flow and licensing standards.
- Conduct daily briefings to ensure the team is informed, motivated and aligned with service objectives.
- Manage and develop the restaurant team by overseeing recruitment, training, performance reviews and succession planning.
- Plan and manage weekly rotas that reflect business needs, ensuring efficiency and alignment with forecasted sales and events.
- Lead pre-service checks to ensure all areas are set and ready for service or event execution, maintaining consistency and excellence.
- Act as a point of escalation for guest feedback and complaints, responding swiftly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Operations team to uphold quality, consistency and service standards across all departments.
- Collaborate closely with the wider estate teams, including Events, Membership and Guest Relations to elevate members experience of The House
- Monitor and manage Front of House performance, fostering a culture of pride, accountability and exceptional service.
- Maintain stock control through accurate ordering, inventory checks in line with the expected financial control measures.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Licensing regulations, taking responsibility for team training and best practice.
- Continuously evaluate guest and member feedback, using insights to recommend improvements and elevate the overall dining experience.
About you
We are seeking a true hospitality professional to lead and develop the Restaurant with strong emphasis on guest experience, quality and entertainment, with the following key attributes:
- Experienced in delivering a high-quality service in a members’ club venue or luxury hospitality setting
- Proven success of commercial incentives, with a deep understanding of both high-end hospitality and nightlife
- Organised with attention to detail, with a passion for hospitality and guest experience
- Ability to problem-solve across a broad range of reactive issues with a positive attitude
- Calm and composed working in high energy and high expectation venues
- Passionate about forward-thinking work cultures, championing diversity and inclusivity
- Displays genuine empathy & responsiveness at work, always leading by example, with a keen interest in team development
- Comprehensive knowledge of the industry and cultural landscape of London.
