Security Supervisor - Club & Live music
KOKO Head Office
This role is offered on a part-time basis across 3 nights per week, flexible to events. Shift availability must include late-nights and weekends.
KOKO is looking for an experienced Security & Door Person to join our team across live gigs, club nights, late-night events and special shows as Security Supervisor.
Reporting to the Head of Security, you’ll be part of the team responsible for keeping KOKO safe, secure and welcoming throughout the night.
Working at a venue like KOKO requires an understanding of the full picture of a busy, high-profile club and live music venue - From the guest experience and artist requirements to crowd dynamics, licensing, venue operations and the atmosphere we want to create.
We’re looking for people who are dedicated to the KOKO mission, take genuine pride in their role and understand that great security should support the experience, not work against it. You’ll need to be agile, adaptable and able to make good decisions in a fast-moving environment where no two nights are the same.
Previous experience in high-end venues, clubs, live music or nightlife environments is essential, as is a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
Role and responsibilities
- Provide professional security and door cover across KOKO’s live shows, club nights and events.
- Support the Head of Security in managing and coordinating agency security teams, helping ensure agency personnel are briefed, positioned and operating to KOKO’s standards.
- Act as a strong point of contact between the in-house team, agency security, venue management, promoters and event staff.
- Help ensure all security teams understand the specific requirements, procedures and expectations for each event.
- Manage guest entry, queues and access points, ensuring a smooth, safe and welcoming experience.
- Carry out searches and security checks in line with KOKO’s procedures and licensing requirements.
- Remain alert to crowd behaviour, potential risks and changes in the environment throughout the night.
- Deal confidently with challenging situations and use good judgement to de-escalate incidents wherever possible.
- Adapt quickly to changing circumstances, different event formats, audiences and operational requirements.
- Understand the wider operation of the venue and how security decisions can impact guests, artists, staff and the overall running of the night.
- Support the safe movement and management of crowds throughout the venue.
- Respond quickly and professionally to incidents and follow established venue procedures.
- Support emergency procedures and evacuations when required.
- Help maintain a safe environment without unnecessarily impacting the energy, atmosphere or guest experience.
- Complete incident reports accurately where required.
- Maintain a professional, approachable and switched-on presence throughout every shift.
About you
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence and proven experience in high-end, established or high-profile venues across nightlife, live music, clubs or events.
- A strong understanding of the full venue operation and how security, guest experience, artists, licensing and the wider team come together to create a successful night.
- Calm, agile and confident under pressure, with excellent judgement, communication skills and the ability to anticipate and de-escalate situations.
- Comfortable working alongside and helping coordinate agency security teams, with the confidence to maintain standards and build strong working relationships.
- Dedicated, reliable and team-focused, with a genuine pride in representing KOKO and contributing to a safe, welcoming and high-energy environment.
- Available to work evenings, late nights, weekends and event days, with a professional approach and appearance.
